Terms of use
Last updated 15 September 2026
These terms are between Nadeem Ahmad, trading as PrepGrid, and the adult who creates an account — a parent, a teacher or a tutor. Children use the service through an adult’s account and do not agree to anything themselves.
Who may sign up
You must be 18 or over to create an account. If you are setting the service up for a child, you confirm you are their parent or guardian, or that you are a teacher or tutor acting with the school or parent’s authority.
What you get
- Free, with no account: practice by topic, drawn from the first ten questions of each topic, and one mock paper per subject.
- A paid subscription removes that cap: the full question bank, unlimited mock papers, and the progress dashboard.
- A teacher or tutor account starts on a free trial with the full bank, and adds worksheets, whiteboard mode, classes, tasks and pupil reports.
Paying, and stopping
Parent subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe at the price shown when you subscribe. You can cancel at any time from your account page; cancelling stops the next payment and you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
If you want your money back for the month you are in, ask us and we will refund it in full. We would rather do that than have somebody paying for something they are not using. This does not affect the rights you have by law.
Schools and tutoring organisations are invoiced rather than charged by card. When a trial or a licence ends, the account is not closed and nothing is deleted: classes, pupils, tasks and results all remain, and new question sets are simply drawn from the same free pool described above until the licence is renewed.
If we put the price up, it does not apply to you. A price change affects only people who subscribe after it, so the price you signed up at is the price you keep for as long as your subscription runs without a break.
What this service does not promise
The questions are written in the style of GL Assessment papers. We are not affiliated with GL Assessment, with any examination board, or with any school, and nothing here is endorsed by them.
Practising here does not guarantee a result. No score, report or dashboard in this service predicts how a child will do in a real examination, and none of it should be used as the sole basis for a decision about a child’s education.
We work hard to keep the question bank correct, and there is a report button on every question precisely because mistakes do get through. If you find one, tell us and we will fix it.
Using it fairly
Please do not:
- share an account between families, or hand your sign-in details to anyone outside your household or school;
- copy, scrape or republish the questions, explanations or worksheets, which remain ours;
- try to get at other people’s accounts or data, or at parts of the service you have not paid for.
Printed worksheets and answer keys may be used freely with your own class or child. That is what they are for.
If we have to suspend an account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Except where something is serious enough that we cannot, we will contact you first and give you the chance to put it right. If we do close a paid account, we refund the month you are in.
Availability
We do not promise the service will be available without interruption. We will avoid planned downtime during the school day where we can, but we cannot guarantee it.
Liability
We will provide this service with reasonable care and skill. Where we fall short of that, we are responsible for it, and nothing below changes that.
What we are not responsible for is how an examination goes, or any decision made on the strength of something this service showed you. The questions are practice material, not a prediction, and no report here should be the only basis for a decision about a child’s education.
We are also not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen when you subscribed, or for problems caused by something outside our reasonable control — your internet connection, your school’s network, or an outage at one of the providers named in our privacy policy.
Where we are responsible, and unless the law says otherwise, what we owe is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — and nothing in them takes away the rights you have as a consumer.
Changes, and the law that applies
If we change these terms we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
